Just what I have wanted

I absolutely love this appliance. I have always wanted a double oven but just didn't have the space. Now I have the flexibility to cook to items at one time at different temperatures etc. I longer have to serve cold meals at dinner time. The smaller upper oven actually provides enough space that I usually just use it. My husband loves the Wi-Fi feature. It's a fantastic product.

I like this oven except it takes 20 minutes to get to 350 degrees. In the description to says fast preheat, which is not true! I've never seen an oven in my life that takes this long to preheat. Customer service tells me it's normal, but it is not!

Beautiful and functional oven

Although I've only been using it for a couple of weeks, I'm loving this oven. The drawers slide like butter, and the touchpad controls are easy to use. It's lovely to look at, and I like that for most things, I only have to heat up the upper oven, as it's just the two of us. I was not successful getting the oven to connect over the cloud, though I could get it on my home wi-fi, so not sure what is up with that, but it works just fine without using "smart" features.

10yr Owner of Single/Double wall oven with 4 boys

We bought the single/double wall oven when we remodeled our kitchen 10yrs ago. I thought my wife was being extravagant because we bought the single/double, the advantium and a normal 30" wall oven. To her credit she was 100% spot on for doing so. We use the single/double 99% of the time. The smaller "compartment/oven" is perfect for baking cookies, brownies, frozen pizzas, chicken nuggets and everything else. Being a parent of 4 boys - all the food the kids want to eat uses the smaller upper space. For everyday dinners the lower space is perfect size for roasts, ham, etc. I can't say with any certainty but I would think we are saving some money by heating say an 18" oven space vs a 30". For the holiday's it is a great luxury to be able to cook a 23lb turkey in the 30" and all the sides in the single/double. It makes cooking for family and friends easier, less time coordinating what gets placed into the oven when, and allows my wife and I to spend more time with our family and friends. And everyone who visits our home falls in love with the idea and adds it to their remodel wish list. If you are trying to decide between double wall oven or this - choose this. You will not go wrong. Again, for us based upon our family, what is being cooked on a regular basis, chosing the single/double with another 30" and a separate microwave was the perfect decision. No quality issues and right amount of features. And I'm speaking as a 10yr owner. My only knock - because the oven spaces are smaller, its a bit of a hassle to clean up the ash after a self-clean. Not impossible. Just take a bit more time.

Here's a picture of a 19 pound turkey in the lower oven. Plenty of room. I reviewed the Twin Flex in a previous post. Still very happy with it. It makes me realize how much wasted space there is in a regular size oven. With rising electricity rates, I'm so glad not to be paying to heat wasted space.

Love having two ovens in one.

This is the only oven that we could find that fits two separate spaces into one regular size oven, and we love it! It has some higher-end features but it is still simple and easy to use. We installed it below our cooktop, so the controls in the middle of the oven are a little it low, but we don't mind crouching down to turn on the oven or change the temp. Overall it's a really great oven!

Nice Oven, But No New Modes

Very nice, solid twin oven with a good user interface. However, this oven does NOT support Pizza Mode, Fast Preheat and other modes as advertised. These modes cannot be supported in this oven because each oven has a single heating element affixed to the ceilings of the chambers. If you are looking for the advertised features, you will need to buy the full-sized ovens. NOTE: GE customer service is superior. The first delivered model would not upgrade. GE quickly replaced with a working model. Nevertheless, the upgrades do not include the advertised features.

We placed the oven in an old 30 inch floor cabinet. It fit perfectly. The control screen is a little low, but I use the Alexa app/voice command to control the oven. I can preheat the oven on the way home from work so it is ready to go. My Apple watch even tells me when the oven is preheated and when the oven timer is over. Running the upper and lower oven at the some time does cause the fan to blow at full speed and heats up the house, but it is great to have two ovens in the space of a single oven.

Love the digitization of the screen, how you can turn it on via mobile phone and it's alerts, 1 minute left, preheating. Only downside would be the preheating time when turning on both ovens, definitely takes a while if you have one on and then look to preheat another. So allot more time if that is the case

It's so nice to have 2 ovens to cook with at the same time. Each oven has plenty of space. The pull out racks are very nice and lighting is excellent. Really like having the ability to control the oven on your phone. The only thing we noticed that could be better is that the ovens are slower than expected to warm up and reach the set point.

It's a great all-rounder: bakes superbly, roasts well, proofs, warms, crisps, broils. If you're afraid you'll be shortchanging yourself by switching from a full size oven to this model, don't worry. You'll be adding capability, not losing it. Think of the flexibility you get: two ovens, two broilers, two warming ovens, a convection baker, a convection roaster, a probe function, a dough proofer, a small quick heating convenience oven, a yogurt maker (Yes! I made two quarts with the Proof setting), and even a slow cooker (the oven temp goes down to 175). GE is upgrading some smart ovens by adding an air fry feature via software; if this one gets the upgrade too, that would be fantastic. It's perfect for small, empty nester cooking, but easily handles big, multi task cooking too. All in the space of a normal single oven without heating big oven space. It's very well insulated -- practically no heat leakage from one oven into the other. My cabinet wall & the oven doors stay cool. Perhaps its even, steady heat is why it performs so well. The fan is so quiet, & the doors feel solid to operate. The control screen is big & bright. I appreciate that the clock is easy to see from a distance. The oven is beautiful & looks elegant in my kitchen. All racks are roughly 15 in. x 21 in., with an inch or so of space to the oven walls. I made a template with newspaper to make sure my largest roasters would fit the rack size and that multiple cake pans could be placed well. The lower oven has 10.5 inches of maximum usable height; the upper oven has 5 inches of maximum usable height. My covered roaster that holds a 18 lb. turkey fits inside easily in the lower oven. A 20-22 pounder would fit, IMO, but uncovered pan only. I like the app! It's handy for checking remaining cooking time. It's nice to wake up, start the oven from my phone, then have a preheated oven ready to go by the time I dress & get to the kitchen. Recently, I proofed cinnamon rolls in the lower oven, turned the upper oven on remotely, then popped the cinnamon rolls in to bake when I got home. Homemade cinnamon rolls were ready by the time we made coffee. Also, this oven's controls are lower than what I'm used to, so by using the phone app to control the oven, I don't have to stoop. The app frequently needs to reconnect to the oven; not an issue for me, but the app still needs fine tuning perhaps. Some quibbles: The roller racks are wonderful, but because the oven is smaller, you'll be removing a rack a lot to accommodate Dutch ovens or large roasts. Have space ready for an unused rack. The floor rack only slides out about 2 inches, so you'll have to take large Dutch ovens with lids completely out of the oven to check on them or to add ingredients. It's easy to reach into the lower oven, though, thanks to the shallow door. Also, the oven temperature recovers rapidly after the door has been opened. On the whole, it's fun cooking with this oven, & I'm enjoying getting to know it. I like it better than my old convection oven & don't miss a 5 cubic ft. single oven at all.
